How it Works
Anterior cervical corpectomy surgery goes like this:
- An incision is made to one side of the midline of your neck
- A portion of the vertebral body and intervertebral disc is removed
- Pressure on your spinal nerve is alleviated by removing the source of compression
- A bone graft or bone graft substitute is used to attach the adjacent vertebrae
